MLB Trade Deadline Completed Deals

This is a list of the trades that have already been made leading up until Tuesday's non-waiver trade deadline.

Padres Ship Linebrink to Milwaukee

The Padres made a surprise move by shipping reliable reliever Scott Linebrink to the Brewers in return for three minor league players. The Padres obtained right-handed pitcher Will Inman and left-handed pitchers Steve Garrison and Joe Thatcher.

Brewers Obtain McClung from Rays

The Brewers have obtained another reliever to try to upgrade their bullpen. They have traded right-handed reliever Grant Balfour to the Devil Rays in exchange for reliever Seth McClung. Balfour was designated for assignment and immediately traded to the Rays. McClung was optioned to AAA recently.

Phillies Get Iguchi from White Sox

The Phillies obtained Tadihito Iguchi from the White Sox to play second base while all-star Chase Utley is out. The Phillies traded minor league pitching prospect Micahel Dubee to the White Sox in return for Ichuci.

Houston Obtains Wigginton from Rays

The Houston Astros finally traded one of their relivers. After much discussion, Houston made it second deadline deal with the Rays in as many years. This season saw Houston trading Dan Wheeler in exchange for third baseman Ty Wiggington, who is having a career season with 19 home runs already on the season. Wiggington is also under contract for next season.

Padres Aquire Hairston from Diamondbacks

The Padres added a much-needed bat, acquiring outfielder Scott Hairston from Arizona in exchange for minor league pitcher Leo Rosales. Hairston is not having a great season, but the Padres need offensive help badly and are hoping a change of scenery will help Hairston out of his slump.

Reds Obtain Cantu from Devil Rays

With two trades already in the books, the Devil Rays show no signs of slowing down. The Rays shipped second baseman Jorge Cantu to Cincinatti in return for right-handed pitcher Calvin Medlock, left-handed pitcher Brian Shackelford and future considerations. With this trade the Devil Rays continue to stockpile young arms.

Lofton back with the Indians

The Cleveland Indians traded for a familiar face. Kenny Lofton has returned to his old stomping grounds at Jacobs Field. The Indians shipped minor league catching prospect Max Ramirez to the Rangers in return for the speedy outfielder. Lofton will add speed and defense to an already offensively stacked team.

Izturis Shipped to the Pirates

Casesar Izturis was traded earlier in the trade season to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cubs received future considerations in return for the utility infielder who had fallen out with manager Lou Pinells.

Kendall a Cub

The Oakland Atheltics finally ridded themselves of Jason Kendall's outrageous contract by agreeing to trade him to the Chicago Cubs. The Athletics received catcher Rob Bowen, who was traded to the Cubs from the Padres earlier in the season, and minor league left-hander Jerry Blevins in return for Kendall.
