Modeling Pays BIG - Just Ask Gisele Bundchen

As a mom, we can certainly be biased when it comes to our children. When we talk about behavior I look at my kids realistically knowing they can be bad but also knowing what they will or won't do. If you told me my daughter hit someone I would cheer. Mostly I would cheer because she finally learned to stick up for herself instead of just ignoring that person. Hitting would be so out of character for my daughter. I am biased about my daughter's looks. She is not only pretty on the outside but her beauty radiates from within.

Had I known models make so much money I would have tried to get her into modeling when she was younger. I really didn't think the stress and cut throat attitude of "pretty people" would be worth putting her into the jumble.

According to Gisele Bundchen tops list of high-earning models, Gisele Bundchen made $35 million this past year. Grant it, most models make in the millions of dollars range. Even at two or three million dollars my daughter would be doing well.

Second place model Heidi Klum only made $14 million. Klum however isn't still trying to be a model. The mother of three, Heidi Klum is more of a "media and retail mogul". She stays busy with her "Project Runway" and "Germany's Next Top Model" along with lines of jewelry, jeans, and skin care.

From second to third the pay scale seems to drop dramatically to only $7.5 million and lower. I know modeling is such a grueling job but aren't all jobs grueling? If jobs were pleasant they wouldn't be called jobs, would they? At least with modeling you make pretty good money and you can take a month off without even noticing the fact that you weren't working.

So, who were the models behind Bundchen, and Klum? Well third place at only $7.5 million was Kate Moss. Adriana Lima was slightly lower with an income of $7 million. The top five rounded out with Doutzen Kroes at $6 million. Ah, if only we all had jobs like that.

It is interesting what we choose to value in society. Models are so overpaid while professionals such as teachers who really do make a difference make so much less. Interesting article!

I agree about being a bit biased towards our own children. I myself have a daughter who is, tall, slender, and beautiful who often gets approached for Modeling. Problem is she has too much attitude and this would make her worse. Great write!!!
