Modern Day America

The Faults We Have Created

James Hogan
In todays modern world there have been so many trials and tribulations. The coming of Americas first black president, the death of a once great pop star, the creation of what maybe the coming of Americas second great depression. And so much more. In no way has America been improving on any of these faults. As a nation, we lead ourselves into more a failing position each and every day, and why? Simple, because every one is so bent over what is so unimportant.

The love of Michael Jackson will forever live on, but let us look at the truth, his death didn't end the world. In fact the week that he died 4 troops died in Iraq. During that week there was no report of those deaths in the news. Instead, it was just Michaels death. Ultimately there is no need for these characters to be portrait as lets face it, gods. But that being said, is it different to display and give honor and tribute to a soldier who has died in a war? The sovereign people ultimately decide this.

Secondly, at the time of writing this article, August 7th 2009, the White House currently houses the first African-American president Barack Obama. His term thus far has been some what shaky. It would seem as though this nation has turned against him. In the light of things, his term so far has been filled with debt, and issues involving health care that some people are saying that in other countries people die because of it. One example would be of Canada. Where men and women using a form of "government controlled health care." The unfortunate part of that deal is that getting certain kinds of care can take some time. Sometimes month. The problem is that by then, the patient could have passed away.

On a final note, are in the midst of a recession. But it isn't just a recession. It is one of the worst since the great depression. In fact most in government are saying that it will turn out to be another depression. Due to the massive lose in jobs, the economy is going virtually no where. On this note, we are still complaining and talking about the terrible things that this president is doing to our nation. But were is the action? Where is the motivation to acquire peace. No where, that's where. We have to rise as a nation and understand that our decisions reflect our government. Let your voices be heard and note that we will rise to the occasion and surpass this great fear of moving forward.
