Modern Day Fred Flinstone Trying to Sell His 'Cave'

Cave Dweller of 2011 List Home on EBay

Malina Debrie
Modern day Fred Flinstone has listed his cave for sale on eBay. Are you interested in purchasing a 'Cave?' It's hard to believe that one living in a cave is having a hard time meeting his mortgage payments. But so is the case with a man living in Festus, Missouri. To view the video of Kirk Sleeper and his son click here: Luxury Cave Home for Sale

Kirk is about to lose his home if he does not come up with the cash to meet his balloon note in 60 days. According to Kirk, his home is valued at $300,000. Kirk Sleeper purchased the property and built his dream home five years ago for about $160,000. He is asking $300,000 for his home. He is trying to raise enough through friends and family to pay off the balloon note. However, if he does not come up with the money, Kirk intends to sell.

If Kirk does not make the 60 day note, he will lose his home. The cave home is surprisingly a beautiful luxury home. It has hardwood floors, 50 foot walls, no electrical/cooling cost and is all natural. He built it stout so you might not have any issues with storm damage problems. The home is completely finished. Kirk built this home to live and die in.

Fred Flintstone has met his match.

These times are decidedly not easy-street. Don't you love the way everyone avoids the word Depression?

I would love to live in a cave! My house is quite dark, so I feel like I am living in a cave some days. I hope he saves his home! Interesting article! :)

Great article Malina. Balloon payments are seldom a good idea except for the most self disciplined of people who will actually set aside the needed funds to be able to pay them when they're due.
