'Modern Family' Wednesday May 11th

Here is your quick recap for "Modern Family" which was new last night, Wednesday May 11th.

Phil and Claire decided to switch rolls since she is usually the one who punishes the kids, and he is the one who usually has fun with the kids. Phil stays home to make the girls clean the bathroom and ends up with a power trip, making them clean all day with no breaks or food. Claire takes her son and Manny (her father's step-son) to go Go-Kart racing but overdoes it, racing them and feeding them way too much junk food which just scares them a little and makes them sick. Very fun stuff, of course, because it shows why they should just stick to what they do best.

Gloria is always bringing home "strays", but these strays are people who are down and out and need a lift. The guy she brings home this time has an awful idea he wants to share with Jay who is a smart and wealthy business man. Gloria knows the idea is terrible, a container that is full of bad dog treats (which the dog loves) and good dog treats (which the dog turned away from.) Jay, being practical tells the guy he has the energy to come up with other ideas, because this one stinks. Gloria of course thinks Jay is too harsh, but when she consoles the guy, she finds out Jay was right. However, there is always a however, the guy gives the dog he had to Gloria because he can't keep her. When Jay tells Gloria they can't keep the dog, he tries to take it back, but decides he likes the dog too much to do that. We are finally getting some really feeling from this hard to crack tough guy.

Cameron and Mitchell are supposed to go to a Lady Gaga concert, but Cameron gets really sick, and Mitchell wonders all day how to tell Cameron he still wants to go. He waits on Cam hand and foot, he tells him that he knows Cam wants him to go, but he wouldn't, and even tries to sneak out when Cam falls asleep. But Cameron wakes up and sees Mitchell sneaking out with Lily (to take her to be babysat by his sister Claire). At the end, Cameron, who feel asleep again, wakes up and Mitchell is there, by his side on the couch. Mitchell says he stayed home, but the light up necklace Mitchell has hidden under his shirt gives it away - he went to the concert (and it was fabulous I am sure!) But that whole situation was something ALL of us have been though - what to do, we want to do, we don't want to disappoint...

Another great show this week. "Modern Family" airs on ABC on Wednesday nights.
