There are an array skateboarders out there. The most common, and practiced, form of skateboarding is called street skating. The most famous street skater is named Ryan Sheckler. Sheckler has received many of sponsors including Plan B, Etinies, and Red Bull. Chris Cole seems to be winning an array of contests and competitions. Chris is more of a Gothic type of skater instead his stance being regular style and is on "Fallens" skate team. Then there is the up-and-coming skaters. There is Chaz Ortiz, he is only 14, and he is a professional for the company Zoo York, which is one of the most common skate boarding brands along with Cerca and Element. Another upcoming star is Paul Rodriguez he is sometimes known as "P-Rod". Paul is a skater that not only skates goofy, but probably the best switch skater, landing switch flips, switch heels, switch board slides down some of the mightiest of stair sets out there. There was no surprise when he won the 2008 Maloof Money Cup.

Then there is the number two way of skating called regular. There is the most famous skateboarder in this region of this sport called, Tony Hawk. Tony has invented so many tricks it's almost unreal., A trick which only four other skateboarders have landed-the trick called the 900. Which is 3 and a half full rotations Most likely if he uses this trick in a contest, you almost inevitably lose. Then there are other vert skaters in the sport. One of the most famous vert skateboarders has gold medals from the X games and from skateboarding and snowboarding and has been to fame and back. This man's name is Shawn White. Shawn has one of the most fluent styles in this sport, just flowing from one trick to another almost like there is snow underneath him. There is also the big contest winner, Bucky Lasek, sponsored by Vans. Not only is he in his thirties but he is still winning an absurd amount of contests from bowls to half-pipes throwing down some of the best tricks out there. Then there is Pierre Ganggon or who is known as PLG. There is a big competition between PLG and the Legend Bucky who has been around since the great Tony Hawk was still winning contests. There may never be a rivalry like this ever again.
