Modern Warfare 2 Mutiplayer Tips

Hello, Modern Warfare 2 player. Does multiplayer have you down? Do you find yourself dead within ten seconds after spawning? If so, chances are you'll need my advice. Before we start you should know I am an experienced Call of Duty player. I've played Cod's 2-6 and I'm pretty good.

Tip 1 -- Watch for Campers! If you don't know, camping is staying in one spot and waiting for prey to kill. People camp with many weapons, but expect sniping from long ranges and shotguns in tight areas. Sniping is a common but expected version. Medium-range camping is usually machine gun based and fairly un-common. Close-Range camping is mostly with shotguns. Close-Range Camping thrives in maps like Skidrow, Rust, and in the tunnels of the map Wasteland, to name a few. Long-Range is in big maps like Derail and Afghan. Highrise also harbors many snipers.

Tip 2 -- Play in the afternoons. Addicts and Experts tend to play at night. In the morning it's usually just addicts. I usually play at these times (I'm not an addict) and the results simplify aren't as good as in the afternoon. If you're on earlier then 10AM or later then 10PM expect a challenge.

Tip 3 - Know your weapons. When leveling up I find it very effective to find one weapon you like and stick with it. Use a certain weapon for about ten levels, and then find a new one you love.

Tip 4 - Try something new. I used to machinegun snipe with a thermal sight MG4 with a heartbeat sensor. Do something really special, changes are your enemy won't expect it!

Tip 5 - Use Perks to your advantage. This is may seem pretty obvious but this one's important. Use perks that augment your weapon and you're fighting style. To speed up long reloads use Sleight of Hand, which drastically speeds up your reload time. When used with already quick reloads like the Mini-Uzi, it's almost like you never reloaded at all. Commando makes it so you can knife from further distances, which is incredibly useful in close-range combat. Commando Pro also grants you no falling damage. (Falling off the map not included).

Tip 6 - Avoid Lag. You may know some games lag very badly. So badly that playing becomes impossible. If that lag isn't going away leave the game immediately. If it doesn't stop when you join a new game either, A- You just got very unlucky or B- It's your fault to begin with, check your connection and attempt to fix the problem.

Tip 7 - Avoid Expert Game Lobbies. A small but useful tip, I usually don't use this one but if you find a lobby full of 10^th Prestige's scary, you should back out. Going back to tip 2 you can better avoid situations like this by playing in the afternoons.

Tip 8 - If all else fails, have fun! There's nothing wrong with fun and it can motivate you to keep playing, which in turn can help you reach high levels.
