Modest Swimsuits for Summer 2009

Though bikinis may be a popular choice for many women, there are also several others who do not wish to wear a bikini. Not wanting to wear a skimpy bathing suit doesn't mean that you have body issues and wish to hide, nor does it mean that you've relegated yourself to a lifetime of frumpy swimwear. There are many cute, modest swimsuits out there for Summer 2009.

Land's End has some great choices. One wonderful thing about Land's End is that they also sell long torso for the tall gals. No more tugging at the bathing suit trying to get it to fit right and having it ride up in all the wrong spots! Both one pieces and tankinis are offered. The separates can be mixed and matched. Their tankinis have long tops and options of higher necklines and they also sell swim skirts to make your suit longer if that's what you prefer. Land's End makes great quality bathing suits too. Check out Land's End's line at www.landsend.com/ix/swimwear-swimsuits/Swim/Women/index.html

Cami swimwear is all about fun! Geared more toward Juniors, their bright and fun patterns are sure to make you stand out on the beach. There's no excuse not to find a cheerful bathing suit here. They offer higher necklines and full-coverage bottoms so that you don't have to worry about showing too much. One of their tops allows for adjustments along the bottom, so for petite gals who find that regular size tops are always too long, this is your answer! Find your newest suit at www.camiswimwear.com/.

Layer's Clothing offers wonderful clothing in general, but their swimsuits are just as chic as their regular clothing line. Their Summer 2009 offerings look to be lovely. The tops are always long enough. The bottoms, however, may not offer enough coverage for all women. These bathing suits generally have lovely detailing on them too. Find yours at www.layersclothing.com.

Lime Ricki has both tankinis and one pieces, depending on your preference. They look like many of the swimsuits available on the market, but with a big difference: they're modest! Instead of plunging necklines and lots of belly (even with a tankini), these swimsuits offer both chic and fun fabrics with high necklines and long torsos. Additionally, their bottoms are full-coverage. Prefer boy shorts or a swim skirt? Lime Ricki has them! Get the next addition for your swim wardrobe at www.limericki.com.

Divinita Sole by Diviine Modestee offers something that other sites don't: they have an option to design your perfect suit! So whether you want more coverage on top or bottom (or maybe both), this feature will help you to find your ideal modest swimwear. Their suits are very high quality and well-made. They have several cute options with mix-and-match fabrics. Check out Divinita Sole's offerings at www.diviinemodestee.com/divinitasole/index.php.

If you're looking for a more basic suit with simple patterns, Shade Clothing is the right place for you. Another high-quality store, Shade has tankinis that are long and sold as separates. This is wonderful because it means that you don't have to buy the matching bottom if it's in a style that you don't want. Choose from full-coverage bottoms, smaller bottoms, or a swim skirt. Instead of board shorts, try a board skirt! Shade has this as a fun option. Find your next suit at www.shadeclothing.com/Product/Womens/Modest/Swim/Overview.

If you would prefer a great amount of coverage, Simply Modest Swimwear is for you in Summer 2009. Offering swimdresses and even an option for custom-made swimwear, Simply Modest will allow you to have fun in the sun without worrying about what's hanging out. Check out Simply Modest at www.modestswimwearsolutions.com/index.htm.

Tamanu Sun is a wonderful store to find a variety of options for your modest swimwear. They offer both children's and women's swimsuits in many colors and patterns. Their swimshirts are cap-sleeved and high-necked and their swimshorts come down to midthigh. You could go from riding a bike to swimming in the sea wearing Tamanu Sun apparel. They also allow you to build your own swimsuit. See what's in stock at www.tamanusun.com/index.php.

Wherever you choose to purchase your modest swimwear from, all of these are great retailers. They allow you to instantly have what you're looking for without having to go through rack after rack of bikinis searching for the one suit you really like that doesn't show everything.

Land's End makes clothing for actual women, not "ideal" women. They have tops and bottoms to suit any figure, and proper fit is one key to modesty.

Nice collection. Land's End has the only tankinis I've ever tried, where the top and middle stay together. ;-)
