Modifying Page Properties in Web Builder

Jasmine Starr

In this tutorial, I will show you how to modify your page properties in WYSIWYG Web Builder. If this is the program that you are using to create your website, modifying your page properties is an important step that you will need to take. It will also help with search engine ranking as well.

To get started with this tutorial, your first step is to open your properties box in Web Builder. At the top of your program, look for the Page menu and click it. In this menu, locate the Page Properties link and select it. A box will open in your program and this is your page properties panel. This is where you will modify the page settings for the website you are building.

Modify Your General Properties

We will begin with the general properties in WYSIWYG Web Builder. In the box that opened, select the General tab. Below are the options you are going to see in this section.

  • Title - This is the title of your page. This is the title that will appear in the top bar of your browser. Type the page title in this field.
  • Button Name - This is what you would use in the code if you were coding. Just leave this field as it is.
  • Page Width / Page Height - This determines the size of your webpage. Most pages are set to 800 x 600, so you can leave this field as it is unless you want to change it.
  • File Extension - Most webpages are HTML, unless you understand the different file extensions, I would set this option to HTML.
  • Page Language - You can set the page language to what you want or you can set it to none.
  • Favorites Icon - This will be the icon that appears in your address bar. You can click the browse button and locate the icon you want to use. Then double click the icon and it will open.

The fields below these options are asking if you want to do certain things. Simply read the questions and tick the boxes of your choice. These fields are pretty self explanatory.

Modify Your Meta Tags

WYSIWYG Web Builder Meta TagsNow we will take a look at the meta tags section. In the Author field, you can enter your name or the name of the webpage. In the Keywords field, you will need to enter keywords that go along with the webpage you are working on. In the Description field, you will need to enter a description for the webpage that you are working on.
