Mom, Are You Proud of Me?

Michael Mann
I am a man now mom, are you proud of me?
I have overcome this cruel world and have a head on my shoulders.
I did not lose sight of the prize, are you proud of me?
I walked across the stage today, a college graduate.

I dedicate my life to helping others, are you proud of me?
I know my role is a small one, but I do my very best.
I have not looked back on my past, are you proud of me?
I know it's not all pretty back there, so I choose not to look back.

I live my life for you mom, are you proud of me?
I wish you could see your little boy all grown up.
I have not forgotten your name mom, are you proud of me?
Even after your life has ended, your memory lives on.

Touching and beautiful. I agree with Jillian; your mother is proud. :)

Very inspiring poetry you have here. It's the same way I feel sometimes.

This is very sweet, Michael. I'm sure wherever your mom is, she's proud. :)
