Momma and Daddy, I Got the Money Y'all Forgot

Jasmine Starr
Years ago, my family and I went out to eat. It was my husband, my two boys, and me. My oldest boy was about 4 years old. We had gone to Shoneys to eat seafood buffet. We had a wonderful supper and our waitress was great. You can't say that about all of them.

After having a great meal, we finished up, got the boys coats on them and proceeded to leave. My husband had already put the tip on the table. The boys were lagging behind me and my husband because they had to get that last swallow of drink. They do that a lot. We will be leaving a restaurant and they'll say hold on, let us get one more swallow. They act like they'll never get anything to drink again.

So, then we all get in the car and start home. We are stuffed so no one is really talking. We get a few miles down the road and my oldest says "Momma and Daddy, I got the money y'all forgot on the table at Shoneys". My husband and I just busted out laughing. We weren't upset with him, because he thought he was doing a good deed. He had taken the tip money off the table that my husband had left for the waitress. Needles to say, we had to explain to him what a tip was and why you leave them. He has never done it again. But it was a very funny moment.

Hysterical. I've seen kids do this. Needless to say, they need to learn what a tip is!

That's some real funny stuff. The innocence of children amazes me. :) Thanks for sharing.
