Mommie's Little Girl

For My Daughter, My Friend

Janet Hunt
Sunshine plays
Off Golden Ringlet Curls

Such is the world
Of a Little Girl

Mud pies and giggles
Mud squished between toes

A bad dream at night
Fantasy world full of foes

Comes and snuggles beside me
We cuddle and sleep

Such are the memories
Deep in my heart I'll keep

All too soon
Her world started to change

Clothes and hairstyles
First dates to arrange

I am not so much a part now
Of your growing place in the world

But to me you'll always be

Mommie's little girl...
