This recipe has been in my family for years. I have tweaked it a bit and I think that it is better than the original recipe.
What you will need:
1 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
4 1/2 cups of flour
Cream butter and sugar together.
Beat in eggs.
Slowly stir in milk.
Add cinnamon and baking soda.
Beat in flour 1/2 cup at a time. Mix until well blended.
Chill at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350*.
Roll cookie dough out on floured surface about 1/8th inch thick. Cut in desired shapes and bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until edges are a light golden brown.
Cool completely and then frost and decorate.
Serve and enjoy!
