Mom's Easy 4th of July Berry Cake

This quick and easy cake is a simple variation on the traditional strawberry shortcake. It is a family favorite around the 4th of July holiday when local berries are bursting with sweetness. Substitute the berries for your favorite, if desired.

Ingredients

Angel food cake or your favorite white cake

Strawberries, sliced

Blueberries

Whipped cream

Sugar

Decorative Sprinkles

Directions to Assemble the 4th of July Berry Cake

1. Cut the Angel Food cake into small squares for each serving.

2. Arrange on a plate.

3. Slice the strawberries into a bowl.

4. Add the blueberries.

5. Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of sugar over the berries.

6. Mix gently.

7. Scoop some berries and place onto the cake pieces.

8. Add a good dollop of whipping cream.

9. Add decorative sprinkles to the whipping cream, berries, and cake.

10. Serve and enjoy!
