Mom's Work was Never Done

A Certain Kind of Values Came from the Hard Works of Yesturday

Deborah Faulk
My mom worked so beautifully
In a system we couldn't know today
Of modern convenience that left astray
Those years ago of all who knows
What all would get done in a single day.
Her days of hard work are long gone sense.
Her system of doing all the right things
She'd starch and press and folded best.
Using the best perfect measures like that.
She did the dishes so perfectly fine.
My mom worked so beautifully
Rejoicing to the rhythms in her times. While
She'd stack those dishes in a system
Those even when dirty they could be mistaken.
She'd washed each in order first the
Cups glasses than plates and bowls. The
Silverware then pots and pans and more.
While she's clear the water perfect clear.
That's the stuff that raises to the surface.
My mom worked so beautifully
While she'd scrub the floors each with her hands
On her knees.
She has raised a lot of kids keeping her work
Even at a very minimal it must have been
Harder than the average person.
There wasn't any easy way except to do it.
