Monarch's Visit

Harold Dean Sink
Sitting still gazing at the view,
Along comes a butterfly
Sipping at the dew.
The stately monarch flies
All around the yard.
It takes some pollen here
And distributes it over there.
Its life is much easier
Than that of which is ours.
This is just another day for him
Flying about our yard.
Days pass on by,
And yet I still like to sit and watch.
Others come and go,
But this monarch likes our yard.
It likes the lantana from which it gets its fill.
Even the butterfly bush goes against his will.
The hibiscus and esperanza he also adores.
But more than all of these he visits It's the tiger lilies which he likes the most.
