Arizona Cardinals at -3.5
San Francisco 49ers
Monday Night Football Picks - Analysis for Arizona
Coming off a huge win last week against the Vikings, the Cardinals can clinch the NFC West with a win against the 49ers on Monday Night Football. With Boldin past his ankle injuries and Warner getting over his concussion, the offense appears to be peaking at the right time. On the defensive side of the ball, Adrian Wilson, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Darnell Dockett make for a solid nucleus of defenders. When Adrian Wilson is able to play up as an extra linebacker, the yards gained on the ground could be few and far between.
Monday Night Football Picks - Analysis for San Francisco
Coming off a major disappointment last week in Seattle, the 49ers will look to rebound on Monday Night Football against the Cardinals. While still mathematically alive for the NFC West title, the 49ers season for all intensive purposes will not include the playoffs. In the past 2 weeks the 49ers offense has undergone a complete transformation turning from a run heavy team into a pass heavy team. The new look offense that passes almost every down worked great 2 weeks ago against Jacksonville. However, last week in Seattle, the 49ers couldn't catch the ball and as a result dropped 3 possible touchdown passes. The receivers were open, the passes were there, but the ball was just not brought in. The good news is that 49ers Quarterback Alex Smith made some good throws and deserved better results than what he got. If he can keep making those quality throws, his receivers will eventually hold onto the football.
Monday Night Football Picks - Head to Head Analysis
The 49ers have played excellent football on the defensive side this year, but they don't necessarily match up well against the Cardinals' potent air attack. With their talented speed linebackers, San Francisco is a tough team to run the ball against. Fortunately for the Cardinals, they prefer to put the ball in the air anyways. When Kurt Warner is firing on all cylinders to Boldin, Breaston, and Fitzgerald, the Cardinals offense is tough to stop. On Monday Night Football, the Cardinals will be able to pass over the top of the 49ers defensive strength and this will be the difference in the game.
