Japanese Bridge
If you know anything about Claude Monet's art, then you will probably enjoy seeing the famous Japanese Bridge and water lily pond. Monet created a Japanese water garden. He had a small pond dug, and had a Japanese Bridge built. Many of his beautiful paintings are of this garden and bridge. It is an incredible view to behold. There are weeping willows, wisteria, nympheas, and lilies to enjoy. If you travel to see the Monet Garden, you may want to plan your visit in late July or early August to get a pretty view of the lilies that are blooming then.
Clos Normand
Clos Normand is another garden on the property. The flower garden blooms from spring to fall. It was designed by Claude Monet. Monet loved color, and so there is color everywhere you look. There are various flowerbeds, fruit trees, perennial, annuals, and roses to look at.
Monet's House
Claude Monet lived in Giverny for 43 years. He lived in his house with his wife and eight children. The house has been restored to present itself back into the 19th century. Even his house is filled with color. His dining room is a vivid yellow, and his kitchen has blue tiles in it. His studio will interest any person who loves his work. Just like his impressionist paintings his home and garden are a work onto itself. It is a definitely must see experience for any traveler.
