The good news is, that many advertising agencies have lowered age restrictions in the past year or so, or have just eliminated the requirement of typing in your birthday.

However, places that only pay out by check (rather than say, paypal) will need some tax info. Luckily for you, your SSN should do just fine! The company itself won't know you're 16, and the IRS will assume that the company allows sign ups of all ages (why else would they be paying you?) and will put you through the normal process.

Alternately, you can have your parents sign up an account for you and take care of any questions they might ask, however I know this is a pain if your parentals are like mine ("Why exactly did someone call me asking about your commision junction account?!?"), that might be another adventure on it's own.

Here's what I would suggest you do to get as little parental involvement as possible.

Go to your local bank, and have a parent sign off permission for you to freely access your account and make withdraws (ask for an ATM card or something of similar use). Just any savings account should suit your needs fine.

Next, get your info put in on your paypal account. They'll deposit a small amount of money into your new bank account, and you will have to tell them exactly how much it was (should be something like 1.92 cents or so), to confirm that you have access to the bank account and it's yours.

PayPal has gotten into the bad habit of assuming you're 18, since you have access to a bank account and are able to get this far.

Once you have a verified paypal account, you can get payments from companies such as AdEngage, Zango, Bivertiser, and I think even CJ.

If you'd rather go a different path instead of monetizing with ads, you can easily make a sales page and sell a product, using paypal to accept payments. Either way you're going to be able to make a nice amount of money.

The last step is getting your money out of your paypal account. You can spend the cash online and have goods sent to your house, or you can buy digital goods that will help you make more money (BMD for example). The other option is to withdraw the cash through paypal. They can send you a check that you can cash at the bank, or they can do it the easy way, and directly deposit the funds into your account. This can take around 2 business days, but once it clears, you can go to any ATM and use your card to get the cash out (or you can go to the bank yourself, give them your info, and have them hand you the cash themselves).
