Money Required to Eat
New Definition for the Acronym, "MRE"
Our Enlisted Married Soldiers (E-1 - E-9) of the United States Army are being charged for MRE's and/or Hot "A" meals when on required overnight training events and in times when the soldiers cannot provide for themselves. Even if the soldiers don't take the MRE's, they are all being charged for all the meals the Army thinks they will eat. Since the latter part of 2010, it has been coming out of their checks.
I personally do not think our soldiers should be charged for their food while on duty or in training, at home or abroad. And if you think these brave married soldiers that honor and protect America on a daily basis are paid well enough that it shouldn't matter, take a look at the chart below : I do not know if this recent practice is also being implemented by the rest of our branches within the United States military. Are the Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard or our National Guard Enlisted Marrieds being wrongfully charged for their MRE's and/or Hot "A" meals? If anyone reading this knows, please comment.
Is this due to administrative budget cuts?
Does everybody realize that if the government shuts down or don't exclude the military and other related government service, it will greatly affect the safety and quality of life of each and every person; legal citizen or not, living in the United States of America , even if temporarily? Americans cannot let this happen . First, we slap our enlisted married soldiers by charging them for food they didn't eat! Now we are about to take away their pay, yet still expect the men and women serving in our military to defend our country with their lives? Meanwhile we feel no empathy for their inability to pay their bills and face losing all they have earned through their dedication and service to America. Our military forces are what we all depend on to maintain a free, safe and civilized society.
