When you need textbook, don't buy it from the bookstore on campus. Go online to buy it. First, you need to know you book title, author and ISBN number. Then you can go to Google to search for it, or buy it on Ebay or some online bookstore for a cheap used book. You can save up to 90% if you do it. I just bought 2 textbook for 30$ (including shipping). One book I bought in an online bookstore for 7$, and the other I bought in Ebay for 22$. If I buy it on campus, it will be 200$! Here is some recommended link for cheap online bookstore:

Use a debit card instead of a credit card.
Be careful of excessive fees when using your debit card.
Buy a coffee maker rather than buying coffee on campus everyday.
Eat at home rather than going out.
Use coupons. They come in handy not just in the grocery store but for the occasional pizza as well. The store nearby you often send coupon through your mailbox. And you can find coupon online easily.
Never go grocery shopping when you are hungry.
And when you go grocery shopping, be sure to make a list and stick to it.
Think about whether you really need brand names - store brands can offer fit the bill.
When you want to buy clothes, consider shopping at resale or consignment shops.
Consider selling clothes you don't wear anymore to a consignment shop.
Consider about some money spending and try to do it by yourself to make it free. For example: hair cutting. If you can cut your hair by yourself, you can save at least 200$/year. (You will think this is a stupid tip. But I am a man. And I don't care much about my appearance. So ... ^_^)
The last tip. As the saying: "Time is money". And you know college is not just partying, hanging around or playing video game. So EMPHASIZE IN STUDYING AND DOING GOOD STUFF. THAT'S THE BEST WAY TO SAVE YOUR MONEY!
