Sephora is the leading retail beauty chain in Europe. With store locations in over one dozen countries, including an ever- growing number in the United States, Sephora is recognized by women the world over as being one of the top beauty product companies in business today. Now, just in time for the Christmas and Chanukah gift- giving season, Sephora and Hasbro, the giant American toy and game company, have joined forces to create a brand new version of the classic board game Monopoly. Monopoly: Sephora edition will be for sale to consumers only from November 2006 through January 2007. Sure to be a collector's item, this great gift idea can be purchased at all Sephora stores and on sephora.com.

Monopoly: Sephora Edition is exactly what the name implies. Packaged in an attractive black box, the familiar game board, property deeds, tokens and Community Chest and Chance cards are all there. With the Sephora Edition of Monopoly however, Community Chest has been renamed Beauty Bargain and Chance cards have been replaced by Beauty Dare cards. At first glance, the game board might look like the classic version, but properties such as Marvin Gardens, Boardwalk and Park Place have been revamped into properties such as; Cleanser Crossing, Lotion Avenue, Lipstick Lane and Gloss Gardens.

With Monopoly: Sephora Edition, players compete to run the most successful Sephora store, which is done by obtaining the most beauty products, along with store directors and specialists. The eventual goal, or object of the game, is to own the entire Sephora empire. In this version of the popular board game, players buy various beauty products to stock in their Sephora stores. When a player owns the entire inventory of a specific beauty or cosmetic category, they place little Sephora shopping bags on their properties. By buying, selling and trading beauty products, players compete to own the largest selection of said products, enabling them to own Sephora stores. When a player lands on another player's cosmetic or beauty property, they must pay rent to the property owner. Eventually, players must bankrupt their opponents, so that only one Sephora store remains. Beauty products in this game are purchased with Beauty Bucks, instead of dollars. Popular Sephora beauty items such as Make Up Forever, Murad, Bliss and Nars will be instantly recognizable to fans and customers of their high- quality line of products. Other widely- known brands represented in the Monopoly: Sephora Edition board game are Anastasia, CARGO, Oscar Blandi and Dr Brandt, among others.

Besides buying, selling and trading beauty products, players must display a sense of business acumen and tend to such details as securing and maintaining water service and electricity for their stores. Whereas in the classic version of Monopoply, players can Go To Jail for landing on the wrong property, in the Sephora Edition, players can Go To Jail for having bad hair days. Fines must be paid for streaky self tanner application, but by getting a manicure, players can advance to GO. While this ingenuitive version of Monopoly is as full of chance and as much fun to play as the original version, there is an underlying sense of obtaining knowledge of the beauty and cosmetic business that is attached to this special edition. Due to the growing popularity of Sephora stores and their wonderful products, combined with the short planned sale dates of this board game, Monopoly: Sephora Edition is sure to be a 'Must Have" item for many consumers this holiday season. As stated previously, Monopoly: Sephora Edition is only available from November 2006 through January 2007. It may be purchased at all Sephora stores and at www.sephora.com .
