Monosodium Glutamate in Vaccines: A Potentially Hazardous Sensitizer

Monosodium Glutamate is a well known flavor enhancer used in many food products. Side effects were first found in 1968 with symptoms of numbness at the back of the neck radiating to both arms and the back, general weakness and palpitations. People who are sensitive to MSG may have may develop a migraine headache, visual disturbance, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, tightness of the chest, skin rash, or sensitivity to light, noise, or smells. Sensitivity to msg may be an indicator of low vitamin B-6 intake. Some research shows that taking B-6 over a period of time will eliminate the reactions to MSG.

According to the MSDS sheet for Monosodium Glutamate, it has a health risk of 2, meaning moderate. Section 2, risk and safety states that ingestion may produce health risk as well as being a possible sensitizer to respiratory and skin. safety warnings include not breathing dust and removing contaminated clothing immediately. For those working with or handling MSG, gloves, protective eye wear and breathing masks are recommended. While this pertains to handling the product in quantities higher than you would typically eat, it still should raise questions as to the safety of injecting this into the body where it can enter the blood stream freely.

The Society for the Study of Reproduction did a single injections of MSG into female hamsters, the results were lesions of the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus, interference of the ovulatory cycles and more. The study can be read here:

and the U.S. National Library of Medicine and National Institute of Health recognize the same lesion on the hypothalamic and subsequent development of Obesity.

Basically what I found through research is a definite potential for harm and not enough studies to make me comfortable that this is the ingredient of any vaccine.

Disclaimer: This article is not intended to give medical advice. It is a call to educate yourself so that in making a decision where your child is concerned, you should take an active role in learning all you can from medical experts on both sides of the fence, then make an educated decision. we did not make an informed decision until one son got Leukemia and another developed Autism immediately after receiving his MMR vaccine. This has sent us on a quest to inform ourselves and others to seriously question what kind of toxic soups are being injected with the vaccines. Odds are if your child is injured by a vaccine, you have little or no recompense against the industry. (http://www.healthsinfo.net/2008/07/toxic-chemicals-in-vaccines/)
