Sounds interesting, right? Wrong!!! First off, the movie is just a basic rip-off of the movie Cloverfield. Monster is filmed documentary style with Erin and Sarah taking turns filming each other and filming Tokyo being attacked by an oversized sea creature. Secondly, Erin and Sarah are extremely boring actresses. Their dialogue is uninteresting and pretty pointless throughout the entire movie. The whole movie is just them running around Tokyo, trying to avoid a killer octopus, and find someone who speaks English. Thank goodness their camera battery runs out and ends my misery.
I can't think of one good thing to say about this movie. The budget was extremely small. Apparently so small that they couldn't even hire an editor to proofread the DVD box cover. The DVD cover lists the earthquake as happening in 2005 but it was actually 2003. Why didn't Erin speak some Japanese? She flew all the way to Japan to film a documentary on global warning but she never took the time to learn some basic Japanese. She deserved to be squished by a tentacle, if that is what happened to her. Of course we will never know because the movie ended inconclusively. But at that point I didn't really care. I was just glad the movie was overwith. Don't waste your time watching this movie. I give the movie 0 out of 5 stars.
