Monster at Sea: Sharks

M Pears
Sharks are the monsters of the sea usually attacking people because they hunt there prey by rushing from underneath to what's on surface line or whatever is above them. This is one of the reasons why people tends to be attacked often. However that is not saying that sharks don't attack there prey at the bottom. Studies just show that you are more at risk to be attack from a shark coming from underneath. Seals are one of the sharks favorite meals, so diving or swimming around seals are not a good idea. Also be aware when swimming around sea lions, and when dolphins are round these sea animals are sharks meals as well. There have been many attacks due to curiosity. Curiosity plays a major role in some shark attacks like when a shark bites a person once and leave them the shark only wanted to get a smell of them or to taste them to identify them from different sea animals. Just a simple shark bite to an human can be very fatal due to loss of legs or arms or bleeding to death before being rescued.

Studies have shown that us humans are not a very good taste to sharks. The great white shark certainly would have no problem swallowing a human whole if that was really his intentions, and that has happen before. But we are not really a favorite food of choice not to say that they don't taste humans now and then. Mostly all sharks are predators with there strong sensory system near the brain designed to process information. There are many different types of sharks but, studies have shown the great white shark to be the most dangerous and deadly. Most sharks cruise around about five miles per hour, but can reach up to eighteen miles per hour when in the chase of prey. Starks have receptor sensors that picks up signals from any living organism. The great white shark can habitat in all temperatures of water, but prefers the tropics. They are usually between nine and twelve feet long. Like stated before in the beginning great whites like to sneak up on there prey rushing the victim with a devastating bite, if it is not a immediate fatal bite the shark will stall to let the prey bleed half to death and wait for it to become weak once that has happen then the shark will return to eat his meal.

The bigger a shark gets the more calories it needs to consume this causes the shark to hunt for bigger prey. This is why great whites don't just defend one territory they travel to different areas at sea for different diet habits. So always be precautions when just having fun at the beach or just taken a dive in the ocean, because these monsters of the sea are out there and are always on the hunt for prey.
