Montana Fishburne Sees Sex Tape as a Way to Mainstream Success; Sasha Grey Stimulates Entourage; Luke Wilson's Leaked Orgy Scene to Help Latest Film

Montana Fishburne, a relatively unknown actress with a famous Hollywood father has decided to star in a porn movie in order to jumpstart a mainstream career; Sasha Grey, a famous porn star known for her willingness to do anything and everything on camera in the interest of her 'art' is joining the cast of Entourage as the HBO show looks to improve its stature and popularity; a leaked orgy scene out of the upcoming Luke Wilson film Middle Men is giving the movie untold publicity.

It seems as if the tables have turned, almost completely, when it comes to the relationship between mainstream Hollywood and the porn business.

In the early days of porn, say in the 1960's and 1970's, the idea that a major porn actress could become a star on mainstream television or Hollywood would have been unthinkable. With the advent of the VCR in the 1980's, porn was available in the privacy of the home and therefore took on a bit more respectability than it had in the earlier days. Occasionally, very occasionally, a major television show or movie would take a chance on a porn star and give her a chance at 'crossing over'. True crossover, however, never really occurred.

Now, however, with porn more widespread and accepted than ever, porn stars and the porn industry are often looked to as a major help in advancing careers and investments. Kim Kardashian, for example, is famous for what exactly beyond her sex tape?

While at one time celebrity sex tapes were seen as career killers, today they are often a means to grow fame and fortune.

Montana Fishburne, the daughter of Hollywood heavyweight Laurence Fishburne, announced this week that she is putting out her very own sex tape, to be released by Vivid Video, with the intent of becoming a major Hollywood actress.

In the same week, Sasha Grey, who is already arguably the top porn star in the business today, makes her debut on the HBO hit show Entourage. While Entourage is wildly successful, there is no denying, even among its most diehard fans, that the show has lost a bit off it fastball in recent seasons. While it is doubtful that Sasha Grey can permanently turn the series around, her presence on the show will undoubtedly do more for the show's fortunes than it will hers'.

Finally, a movie based on a true story of early porn entrepreneurs, Middle Men, starring Luke Wilson, is getting an early burst of publicity weeks before its release, as an orgy scene that needed to be cut from the film in order to save its "R" rating has landed on a Porn 2.0 website. In about a week, the scene has gotten over 200,000 views. A large percentage of these views come from those that, presumably, will be more inclined to go watch the actual movie now.

So as Montana Fishburne films a sex tape to advance her career, as a hit HBO show features porn superstar Sasha Grey to give it some excitement and as a Porn 2.0 website, intentionally or not, promotes a mainstream Hollywood film, it's clear that not only does the porn industry have less of a stigma than it once did, it also is, in many respects, a partner that the mainstream entertainment industry wants.
