Montana Fishburne's Father Isn't Speaking to Her After Her Sex Tape, and Her Idol Kim Kardashian Regrets Having One Herself
Will Montana Fishburne Soon Realize the Damage She May Have Done to Her Image and Family Life After Release of a Porn?
For those not following the Montana Fishburne sex tape story, she announced earlier this summer that she was releasing her very own sex tape, citing Kim Kardashian as her inspiration. She reasoned that Kardashian became famous largely due to a leaked tape that she appeared in in 2007 and that she believed appearing in a sex tape would help her start an acting career.
While undoubtedly Kardashian became instantly more famous, it did not lead to the mainstream acting career that Fishburne has claimed she wants as a result.
Today, in fact, Kardashian was quoted in Allure Magazine as saying of her sex tape experience and the aftermath, "Not my most proud moment, it was humiliating. But now let's move on. Not that I don't think it's no one's business, but I think I've done a good job with replacing negative things with positive things."
Of course, one of the key differences between Kardashian's appearance in a sex tape and Fishburne's is the fact that Kardashian's was made with a former boyfriend and never intended for public consumption.
The tape was leaked and Kardashian did become a bigger star, but it was viewed generally as a quasi-celebrity making what she thought to be a private sex tape and having it leaked. Really, Fishburne has made the decision to become a porn star with the rationale that it will help make her a mainstream actress. It's a key difference in motivation, and likely in result.
This is to say nothing of her personal life. Fishburne admitted this week that her father, Laurence, wants nothing to do with her until she 'turns her life around.'
Speaking with celebrity news website TMZ, Montana said her father told her, "I'm not going to speak with you 'till you turn your life around. You embarrassed me."
One of the things that seemed to bother her father most was the fact that she used her last name and presumably intentionally was trading in on the Fishburne name. Montana quoted her father as saying, "You used your last name. No one uses their real name in porn."
While nowhere in the interview did Montana Fishburne express regret over her decision to make a sex tape, one wonders how she will ultimately view her decision as she sees Kim Kardashian's regret over her sex tape and has her relationship with her father deteriorate.

Was this the daughter that was involved in prostitution? I don't condone illegal activity, but if his daughter wants to make a sex tape, that's her right. In any case, I would never disown my daughter. He's doing more harm to her with that type of public statement than any sex tape would. Children need their parents love, even when they're adults. He should love his daughter no matter what, not go public and say that his daughter embarrasses him. I don't think too highly of Laurence now.
