Monterey, California offers more than just a day at the beach surfing and basking under the sun god. Monterey offers sights and activities of all kinds. When in Monterey, California try visiting or enjoying one of these spectacular activities or dine at a great restaurant. During our recent visit to Monterey, California my husband and I found many different things to keep us interested and entertained.

Horse lovers can take a ride along the beach by visiting Monterey Bay Equestrian just a 15-minute trip from downtown. Follow Hwy 1 north to exit 414A. Turn left onto Molera Rd once you are off the exit and go 2 miles taking a left onto Monterey Dunes Way take Monterey Dunes Way to the end and meet your horse at the parking lot. It is necessary to call ahead for setting a time for a great and exciting beach ride. (831) 663-5712. Monterey Bay Equestrian is open all year around so visitors can enjoy the beach while riding on a great horse.

Monterey Bay Aquarium, located at 886 Cannery Row, Monterey, California 93940-1085 (831) 648-4888. Open daily it is a great idea to visit www.montereybayaquarium.org for daily activities and hours. Visitors can also enjoy the Monterey Bay Aquarium Adventures & Tours these include trips such as sailing; behind-the-scenes tours and teen surface scuba diving just to name a few. It is important to contact the Monterey Bay Aquarium for times, prices and locates for these activities. When at Monterey Bay Aquarium visitors can view many kinds of ocean wildlife. The Monterey Bay Aquarium also has daily activities and programs for visitors who wish to make their visit to the aquarium an experience of a lifetime.

For an amazing meal when visiting Monterey Bay, California a trip to Rio Grill located in Carmel, California is just a short trip by freeway from Monterey. Located at 101 Crossroads Boulevard, Carmel, CA 93923 (831) 625-5436. www.riogrill.com will provide visitors with a glimpse of the menu items and prices. Rio Grill uses the freshest local ingredients and adds a Southwestern flavor and theme to their cuisine.     Went to Monteray and Carmel, had a blast. Only wish I had read this first, I would have love to gone horseback riding.

    I've never been to Montery, CA. You'd think I'd be more into boating and such being that I live in SWLA, but I'm not. I do like being near the water in cool weather.
