Best Bike Shop In Cincinnati

Cincinnati and its surrounding area offer many pleasant cycling experiences. The extremely popular Loveland bike trail now extends from the Cincinnati city limits all the way north past Dayton suburbs such as Xenia and Lebanon. Only twenty minutes from the city limits is East Fork State Park in Clermont County, featuring three scenic mountain bike trails as well as four different sites for road biking.

Part of the popularity of cycling in Cincinnati is due to the many bicycle shops around the area. The best of these is Montgomery Cyclery, which stocks great brands of mountain bikes such as Giant as well as quality road bikes like Cannondale. Montgomery Cyclery also offers a wide variety of bike racks, riding accessories, exercise models and quality repair services.

I recently bought a mountain bike at the shop on Beechmont Avenue in Anderson Township. After trying several different models on the trial ground behind the store, I decided to purchase a Giant bike. The representatives there, who are very knowledgeable and always friendly, adjusted the seat at the perfect height for my build. They even threw in a water bottle and chain lubricant at no cost. I later went back and bought a new helmet and bike rack at Montgomery Cyclery. The shop also has an array of kids' bikes, including the sturdy, reliable Giant brand. I plan to get my daughter's new Christmas bike there.

Montgomery Cyclery has five locations, including the one in Anderson Township, just east of the city. To the west in the quaint village of Montgomery is the store's original location, still serving a bicycle-friendly community. There is also a branch of Montgomery Cyclery just north of the city in Westchester, serving riders from Butler County and even some suburbs south of Dayton. There are also two stores in northern Kentucky. The Erlanger branch is located near the Greater Cincinnati airport, and the store in Cold Spring serves Bluegrass residents who live a little farther from the city.

Montgomery Cyclery also sponsors many cycling events around Cincinnati. In September its representatives participated in a 10k family race in nearby Milford, and they will also be active in the Gearfest Weekend in Dayton in October. The store also holds several cycling demonstrations in state parks around the area. I attended one in June at East Fork State Park, where the company had nearly a hundred bikes for people to test out on the mountain trails or the park roads.

The best aspect of Montgomery Cyclery is its quick, efficient repair. Each time I have taken a bike for a repair, I have never had to leave it. The service technicians usually repaired it in less than thirty minutes, and the longest wait I ever had there required just under an hour. The wait really was not a problem, since the Anderson shop is located on Beechmont Avenue, which offers dozens of restaurants, department stores, specialty businesses, and groceries.

The store has an informative website that features all of its products, store hours, prices, and even an events calendar. The site can be found at www.montgomerycyclery.com.
