Montgomery's Jubilee CityFest

It's time for the annual Jubilee CityFest. This year the festival that normally takes place Memorial Weekend every year is being held April 27th and 28th. Jubilee CityFest has also been moved to the River in Downtown Montgomery, Alabama . "The mission of Jubilee Cityfest is to create a family weekend festival, with entertainment, cultural events, visual and performing arts, sporting events, and educational children's activities that improve the quality of life in the City of Montgomery, Alabama." Over the years, Jubilee has made over a 7 million economic impact for the Montgomery area. Through Jubilee's profits, they have been able to repay the community 250,000 through donations to Montgomery public schools, improving riverfront community, United Way, Family Sunshine Center, Brantwood Children's Home and McInnis School.

Friday opens the festivities with performers such as Vince Gill, Heartland, Micheal Warren, Copeland, and the Goo Goo Dolls. Friday night's also includes a firework display starting at 8:45. After the concert's Friday make sure to come back early Saturday and participate in the annual Jubiliee Cityfest fun walk/run. Starting at 2 pm, the KidsFest opens with arts and crafts, Kid Idol, plus puppets, magic shows, and a meet and greet with Marvel Comics. In addition to Kid Fest there is also Art Fest exhibitors with jewelry, art, pottery, and paintings. Saturday night performing artists Ludacris, Mark Wills, Sugarland, Brick, Bad Company, and Foreigner will perform.

Don't worry about what you will eat while enjoying all these great activities. Each year, Jubilee has a fine selection of concessions sure to please every the pickest of eaters! Cool mist tents will also be available to make sure you stay comfortable.

Tickets are on sale now. Advance Tickets can be purchased for only $40.00 or day passes for only $30.00. Tickets can be purchased online or at area Colonial Banks, Regions Banks, Bulletin Board, Food World locations, Eastdale Mall Customer Service Centre, The Shoppes at EastChase Office, Maxwell Gunter ITT. Limited parking is available at Lots 1-4 of the Riverwalk Stadium. Shuttle buses are available at Cramton Bowl and Paterson Field. Parking is $5.00 per car. There are some free handicap parking spots at City Parking Deck. Please refrain from bringing , food or beverages, guns, fireworks, backpacks, umbrellas, frisbees, portable stereos coolers, video recording equipment, professional photography equipment and audio recording devices to the festival. All bags brought into the festival are subject to search. Don't forget to bring sunglasses, comfortable shoes, and sun lotion to help enjoy tour day.
