Soon Mercy is wrapped up in the werewolves problems, and although she keeps telling them she is not a part of the pack, she puts her neck on the line for them. She also finds herself going back to her hometown that she never really wanted to go back to. Mercy comes face to face with Samuel, her old flame. Can she help the werewolves find out who is doing this? Can they stop them?
This was my first book by Patricia Briggs. Her writing and story feel somewhat similar to the Anita Blake novels of Laurell K. Hamilton but don't let that put you off. This book is everything Anita Blake tries to be. Mercy is a strong and smart woman, who als is soft and a woman at heart. Her tough exterior does not mean she thinks she is invincible. All the characters are well thought out and very realistic.
Another plus to this book is that there isn't the sex scenes that many others with similar stories somestimes have. Sometimes that is off putting to readers, so it was a breathe of fresh air to not find this one loaded down with it.
The only problem I had was that at time I felt like there was too much talking. Little details were in the story that I really felt we could have done without, but that isn't really a big deal. The plot was engaging, and fast paced. Not once did I sit down this book without still thinking of it. I could not leave it alone. I believe I have found a new favorite author.
"Moon Called" by Patricia Briggs is available at www.amazon.com for $7.99 brand new. You can also buy a used copy there as well. If you are a fan of all things supernatural, this one is not to be missed
