Moon Glow

Eva Gallant
On the darkest night, the moon's image relected on the sea.

There was something in the glow that told us we were free.

Free to shed our swimsuits on the sand

And race into the water, giggling, hand in hand.

Once wet, the laughter died as we joined in an embrace--

The goosebumps on our arms, the moonlight on his face.

Though nude, we were not cool for long,

Our passion found its heated song

And in that kiss.

We found our bliss.

Mr. Moon, how many others could you see

Souls dancing, like my love and me?

What was in that golden glow that seemed to act

Like a natural aphrodisiac?

And why is it now that we're mature

We've grown indifferent to your lure?

Oh, to be young again and full of hell,

And feel once again the magic of your spell!
