Twilight Kicks Butt & Eminem Pulls an Off The Wall Stunt With Sacha Baron Cohen at the MTV Movie Awards

Robert Pattinson and the Twilight crew won big at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. He shared the Best Fight and Best Kiss awards with co-stars Cam Gigandet and Kristen Stewart respectively; Pattison was also the winner of the Breakthrough Performance Male award. In addition to these awards, the hit movie won the top honor - Best Movie.

The trailer for the second installment of the Twilight series New Moon can be seen here.

The surprise moment of the evening was of course made by Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen) and Eminem who earlier in the show performed the songs We Made You & Crack The Bottle from his new album Relapse . Bruno came on the show to present the Best Male Performance award (Zac Efron won for HSM3); however the way he came in wasn't very original. He came in flying over the audience much like Howard Stern did at the 1992 VMAs, but he didn't land on the stage like the popular shock jock. He did however land head first on Eminem causing his rear end to be in the rapper's face (Cohen was wearing a thong). It's only natural for someone to be enraged by such an act and it was in fact an act. According to the show's head writer the incident was staged.

Eminem confirmed that it was a stunt; he's a big fan and agreed to do the stunt with Baron Cohen. The Michigan native told RapRadar.com that he was fully aware of what was to happen; even his angry outburst was part of the plot to fool the audience and viewers at home. "I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it." He told the website. He went to his hotel room after leaving the show and laughed about it for three hours. Baron Cohen portrayed the gay Australian fashion icon to promote his new summer movie aptly name Bruno which will hit theaters on July 10.

Hosted by SNL's Andy Samberg, the entire 2009 MTV Movie Awards can be viewed at MTV.com.

Off-Broadway Musical Heads To The Big Screen

Mama, I Want To Sing! will star platinum recording artist Ciara and Emmy-award winning actress Lynn Whitfield. Based on the gospel musical of the same name, the film tells a story of a young singer (Ciara) on the brink of becoming a pop superstar. She must come to terms with her mother (Whitfield) who is a gospel sensation and doesn't approve with her daughter's path in life. Schedule for an October 23 release, the film also stars Patti LaBelle, Hill Harper, Billy Zane and Ralph Tresvant.

And Speaking of Ralph Tresvant...

For fans who grew up listening to New Edition, witnessed the change in members (Johnny Gill replacing Bobby Brown) and the spin-off group Bell Biv DeVoe; this may come as a bit of a surprise to those that don't know. As of late 2008 Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill have teamed up to form the group Heads of State. They were waiting for Ricky, Mike and Ronnie to bring focus back to the group and seeing the wait was longer than anticipated, the group was created. They have since been touring (under another name - The Summit) and are currently working with hitmakers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis on an album slated for released this year.

I've been writing about the entertainment world for some time now. I enjoy the aspects of it, the ins and outs, and some of the drama is like a great reality show. My wish is to write for a few magazines and...  View profile
