Moonlight Serenade

A Vampire Story Part 1

Cindy Wright
It was a balmy summer evening in Angel Ohio. Kristy Snyder was enjoying sitting on the deck watching the sun go down. The sun was disappearing behind the lake. Kristy loved her little cottage. The view was amazing and the people of Angel were very friendly and helpful, most of them any way.

A few days before Kristy saw a group of people walking, two guys and one girl. They were dressed all in black; they wore dark sunglasses and kept their heads down, not even looking up as Kristy passed by. But as Kristy passed by them one of the guys looked towards her. He was different from the other two because he had beautiful blond hair. The other guy and the girl had jet black hair. Walking past them gave Kristy an eerie feeling; however the guy who looked towards her also intrigued her in a weird way that she didn't quite understand.

She still could not stop thinking about this guy who had showed no signs of friendliness towards her other than looking her way. She felt there was some deep, dark secret about him and she could not figure out why he had made such an impression on her with a single glance.

Kristy was startled when the phone rang beside her.

"Hello."

"Hi Kristy its Kaylee, what are you doing?"

"Just sitting out on the deck enjoying the view, what about you?"

"I'm very bored. Let's go out and get a drink or something?

"I don't know, I am enjoying the weather hate to be stuck inside."

"Well great, we can walk to this cool little bar just a little piece from your place. And they have live music and the band plays outside. With the moonlight tonight it will be amazing."

"A place near me, I didn't know there was place in walking distance."

"Yes it's a cool place to go. It's called Bloody Corner."

"Oh Kaylee how horrible I do not want to go to place called Bloody Corner. "

"Pay no attention to the name. The name was giving to it years ago when it was a very rough bar. It is not like that no more. The guy that owns it is a little strange but not in a real creepy way and his kids are the band that plays there. They are really good. They aren't the friendliest bunch but they have lots of talent and its cool way to spend the evening. Come on lets go. I promise you will like it."

"Ok Kaylee, come on over and we will head out."

They said their goodbyes and Kristy went inside to get ready. A few minutes later Kaylee showed up and they walked to Bloody Corner.

Kristy was pleasantly surprised as she walked into Bloody Corner. It was a very nice and clean bar. They ordered drinks and Kaylee led Kristy outside to the deck and they got a table. The band was playing with the moonlight shining behind them. The band was amazing and then the singer for the band walked on to the stage to join the band.

Kristy was surprised as she realized the singer and two of the band members were the group she had seen walking with dark sunglasses and their heads down. The blond that had looked towards her had an amazing voice and he could play the guitar like no one she had heard before. She was memorized.

The moonlight was shining down on his head and creating an amazing glow combined with the stage lights it was almost hypnotizing. Kristy had never felt this kind of eerie and instant attraction for anyone before. He was looking at her and she felt like he was starring right into her soul.

When the band took a break, Kristy could not help herself she followed the band off stage and went right up to the blond.

He had disappeared from the deck and Kristy saw him standing down below the deck in front of the lake. It was like he was calling for her to follow him and she could not stop herself from doing just that.

She walked up to him and he turned to face her. His eyes were almost black or so it seemed in the moonlight. He never spoke a word but it was like he was doing a moonlight serenade just for her without even moving his mouth. Then he said "I have been waiting for you for a long time."

It was then that Kristy saw that his teeth were more like fangs than teeth. Kristy realized she was in the presence of something she had never believed in before, until this moment. She was spellbound by a vampire. She felt like she should be scared and that she should run but something deep inside her told her that there was nothing to be scared of. This man with the amazing voice and the killer good looks was not there to hurt her. He was there to complete her. He was her destiny. But what was ahead, what exactly was that destiny and how would they combine their worlds. Part 2 to come later.
