The food at Moose McGillycuddy's is nothing fantastic, but it's not half-bad for the price. If you are looking for a quick lunch before heading back to Waikiki Beach, Moose McGillycuddy's isn't a bad place to eat. They offer pretty good burgers and sandwiches, and plenty of appetizers (pupus) for lunch. On the dinner menu, you will also find some Mexican entrees, and lots of chicken and beef. The food is fairly standard Irish pub fare.
The service is fast, and it's friendly, so you can get in and out quickly, and get back to the beach. There aren't many frills at Moose McGillycuddy's, and it's not a great place for families. But for a quick sit-down meal and a few drinks, it's just about right.
Speaking of drinks, Moose McGillycuddy's has a pretty terrific happy hour, from four to eight p.m. Happy hour is a great time to become acquainted with Moose McGillycuddy's in Waikiki. Go for the beer, order some apps, then stay for a dinner entree and more drinks. Dinner generally runs between $7 and $16 per person. Lunch between $7 and $12. Moose McGillycuddy's is also open for breakfast, but I don't recommend you start your morning there.
At night, Moose McGillycuddy's transforms into a hotspot, with live music and lots of dancing. That's when the hard drinkers really pour it on. If you are spending a night out in Waikiki, stop by Moose McGillycuddy's to check out the vibe. It's young and it's fun, but if you are no longer into the whole frat party scene, you may want to move on fairly quick. There's a deejay and dancing until 3:30 a.m. in the nightclub on the second floor. And the drink specials are really fantastic.
Moose McGillycuddy's is also a terrific place to catch the big game. Watch your favorite sports team while snacking on wings and downing cold drafts at the bar. Keep in mind, however, that Hawaii has its own time zone, so watching games isn't always as convenient as it is on the mainland. Still, if you're up for early drinks, Moose's is the way to go.
Moose McGillycuddy's is located at 310 Lewers Street, just off of Kalakaua in the heart of Waikiki. Check them out online at moosewaikiki.com, or give them a call at 808-923-0751 for more information. Enjoy your time at Moose's!
