In the center of the store there are tables and chairs for dining. There is also outdoor eating both in front of the store and in the rear. The rear area has clear plastic sheeting as protective walls to keep weather out. Both areas are nice in good weather although the front is right on the street so you deal with passing traffic .Te front eating area is also near the rail road tracks so noise will be an issue. The back eating area faces a parking lot so that isn't very pretty but the plastic sheeting helps hide this problem a bit. It's still nice to be able to eat outside if you choose and the food is so good it makes up for the lack of scenery outside. It's one of the few places in Ramsey where you can sit outside and eat.
This deli has home made pastas, soups and sauces and pastries, and imported cheeses. There are frozen homemade foods to take home or have delivered if you are local. They offer beautiful imported Italian gifts and specialties. They have beauatiufl imported bowls and serving pieces. There are huge jars of olives, vinegars, oils, sauces, pestos and the like are on the shelves. The freezer area has wonderful prepared items to bring home. This is really an Italian market as well as a gourmet deli. Morano's will make up wonderful custom baskets for gift giving if you'd like. They also offer online shopping and call in meals. You can order a faxed lunch. This is such a very nice service if you work in the area.Morano's also caters any size function.
Morano's has an extensive lunch menu with antipastos, excellent salads, home made meatballs, beautiful meats and cheeses and side salads as well as specialty sandwiches. The prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of the foods and the large portion sizes. A meal of sausage, peppers and potatoes cost only $4.95 for a portion, a good sized portion. Sandwiches, Wraps and Paninis, run $5.95 to $7.95 and delicious soups are $3.75 to $4.50. There is plenty of seating inside and there is no feeling of being crammed in. There must be very good acoustics since no matter how full the place is when you're sitting inside you aren't bombarded by noise.
I like to get the Italian hero when I have lunch there and a side of soup. I usually go with a friend and we split the sandwich since it is so large. The Ciabatta bread is so fresh you almost expect it to be warm, it's exquisite. The soups are made on the premises and you can get soup portions to take home as well. The selection of soups changes daily.
Around the Holidays the creative seasonal and gift baskets are on the shelves waiting for pick up. They do quite a business in this area , you can see so many, many baskets waiting to be claimed. I run a fundraiser every year and Morano's contributes a huge basket of goodies to the auction. This is one of the auction items that everyone hopes to win. They talk about it for months.
For wonderful Italian food take in or eat out or special food for your catered affair check out Morano's Gourmet Deli. They are open 7 days a week and accept credit cards. They ar wheelchair accessible through the rear door. Check their daily specialities.
