Seasons.....Dogs.....Miscellaneous

Doreen Bradley Satter, RN
SEASONS:

FALL

Floating flecks of red, orange, gold, burgundy

Airborne, swirling, falling

Leaves of all sizes and colors

Land on the neat green lawn

WINTER

Whiteness covers all and stills the sound

Insulating the world from unnecessary

Noise and confusion

Taming the land, bringing wild animals

Ever closer to forge for food

Revealing the wonderland of winter

AUTUMN

Array of hues from nature's pallet shutter and quiver

Unexpected breeze sends parchment flurries of reds and golds

Tumbling and floating

Until bare branches appear

Mounds of crunchy leaves a reminder

November is blowing in

SUNSHINE

Surprisingly bright after months of gray

Unexpected rays of gold

Near blinding brilliance

Shines from above

Hidden no longer by dark clouds

Increasingly rising thermometer

Nearing record-breaking temperatures

Each day hotter than the last

DOGS:

YORKSHIRE TERRIERS

Young pups are just a handful

Other canines beware: 'I am the ONLY one!'

Reliable, lovable companions

Kisses are always welcomed and freely returned

Silky hair, long and wavy, non-allergenic

Happy, healthy little critters

Intelligent and very curious

Robust beyond their mini size

Everyone's favorite lapdog

Testing limits constantly

Entertaining himself with toys

Relentless and determined with his wants

Remarkably dapper little thing

Inside/outside all day long

Especially dedicated to his humans

Ready to nap only when exhausted

Sleeping now, like a fallen angel

MISCELLANEOUS POEMS

CELLPHONE

Common device most everyone owns

Emotions rise when problems arise

Long waits to connect to tech support

Longer waits at local kiosks

Phones are never truly 'under warranty'

Horrible service is inevitable and

Online is always 'off line'

Not wise to rely on these temperamental instruments

Everyone does though

DATING

Duo meets hoping for compatibility and more

Attentive and charming defines the first date

Terse and distant as weeks pass

Interesting how we change when familiarity enters

No, this isn't working for me...

Going out again next weekend to try again

It's clever the way you use the first letter of each line. I especially enjoyed the Yorkshire poem.
