Biting your nails about whether Aerosmith is going to show up for their concert in your hometown? Well, turns out you have good reason to worry! The Boston rockers have now officially cancelled 2 back-to-back shows. The band had already cancelled its Friday night performance (08/07) with ZZ Top at Winnipeg's Canad Inns Stadium and it has now officially cancelled its Sunday night show (08/09) in Regina due to the recent shoulder injury of singer Steve Tyler.

More cancellations are expected to follow in wake of independent reports from guitarist Joe Perry, Billboard and AP that Tyler has broken his shoulder and is expected to be out of commission anywhere from 4 weeks to 2 months.

Canadian promoters are saying they expect to reschedule the dates quickly, but this does not seem likely in light of Aerosmith's guitarist Joe Perry's recent comments.

Perry told a Chicago radio station on Friday (08/07) that the future of the tour was up in the air.

"We still don't know if we're going to keep the tour up or what. It's breaking my heart," Perry said.

Tyler stumbled backwards while dancing on the stage catwalk at a concert on Wed (08/05), and fell several feet into the crowd. Tyler had been entertaining the crowd at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in SD while awaiting the repair of a blown fuse during the performance of "Love in an Elevator."

Festival security pushed through the crowd and assisted the shaken singer backstage and the remainder of the show was cancelled

Originally, the promoters said Tyler was only shaken up and just needed a few stitches. The tour was expected to go on as scheduled. But tour news has been changing daily as more dates are postponed. The singer's injuries have proven far more serious than initial reports suggested and it appears he may be out for a considerable time.

For the moment, the band's scheduled dates in Edmonton, AB Tue, 08/11, Calgary, AB Thu, 08/13, Vancouver, BC Sat, 08/15/09 have not been cancelled -yet!

Perry said he did not know what would happen with the remaining 18 dates of the tour.

In the meantime, the Aerosmith guitarist has been busy giving interviews, plugging his latest solo project and working on some new music.

"As soon as ... I knew the tour was going to get postponed or cancelled or whatever, I was like, 'All right where's the first radio station?," Perry said.

Probably a wise move as it appears he'll have some time on his hands while Steve heals.
