More Cheap and Free Places to Take Your Kids in Massachusetts

If you live in Massachusetts and are looking for some affordable places to take your children to, have a look below and check out these great places.

If your kids love science then you just might want to take them on over to the MIT Museum in Cambridge. The MIT museum hosts many exhibits that build around science. There are many interactive exhibitions and programs for the public to partake in. There is this great exhibition called Robots and Beyond that gives visitors incite into the robot world. There are interactive displays and robot designers there to see and talk to.

This museum is free on Sunday 10:00 am-12:00pm. Children under age 5 are free.

Normal admission prices are not very high; for adults it's only $7.50 and for youth under 18 and seniors it is only $3. The museum is open daily 10am-5pm but closed on select Holidays. The museum is located on 265 Mass Ave, Cambridge.

This next place is a great place to visit with the children. There are so many intriguing exhibits on display. This place is called the Harvard Museum of Natural History. In this museum they have exhibits such as the Hall of Mammals where whale skeletons hang from the ceiling and the South African Animals exhibit where kids can view lifelike specimens of various animals. There is so much to see and learn here at this museum.

The museum is free to Massachusetts residents every Sunday morning (year round) from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. (noon) and on Wednesdays (from September-May) from 3:00pm- 5:00pm.

Lynn Museum and Historical Society

Lynn is a small city by the sea, just north of Boston. Lynn is known for its part in the shoe industry in 1635 and for its famous residents such as; Frederick Douglass and Mary Baker Eddy. The Lynn Museum and Historical Society is a great place to visit and learn about the history of Lynn. There are exhibits and collections to view such as the All Politics is Local: There's Something Afoot in Lynn. This exhibit shows Lynn's participation in local and state politics. The museum's website says that this exhibit would be interesting to all ages.

Kids under the age of 12 and Lynn high school and middle school students can get in free but adults have to pay $5.00 which isn't too bad.

The museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 12:00pm- 4:00pm and on Thursday from 12:00pm-8:00pm.
