Methods of Ghost Chasing- Hunting the Dead: Brian Roesch
I was a bit disappointed in this one. There are some good tips in this book, but the author has a few techniques I would not suggest following such as the Drive By.. basically staking out a funeral to take photos. The authors attitude about this one kinda rubbed me the wrong way.. He has some good basic forms to use and nice tips on using infrared film and hunting underwater. There are sections on the different types of equipment and types of ghosts. The listing on haunted places was a little long and I thought the book could have done without it myself and the repeating of info on what to take along was a little grating. Overall not a bad book, but if you find it in a library I would check it out rather than buy it.
Ghost Worlds - Melba Goodwyn
This book has sections on ghosts, orbs and such. Much of what is covered is the basic stuff and she shares personal experiences also. One of my problems is she talks about amazing evidence she has but I have not been able to find a trace of it. Though the book has some good basic info on the different types of paranormal activity, the author doesn't have much negative to say about things like orbs or ecto - mist. No 'debunking" if you will. If there are photos that good, such as a full body apparition... why not share them with the world? I have to question that. All in all it wasn't that bad but again I would check the library.
The Case for Ghosts - J. Allan Danelek
We're getting better with this one, though I admit the talk was a little too formal for my taste at first. Don't let that scare you off as it gets a little better. I do like that the author is open to all theories and he has some good example photos in there on fakes and simple things like the camera strap. He covers equipment, demons, spirit guides and other phenomena. This is more of a scientific look at the paranormal than you may be used to, but not a bad read.
The Art of Ghost Hunting - Jaeson K. Jrakman
If you get one book on ghost hunting it should be this one! This book is really a must have for beginners. Written so you can understand it..I love it. He covers what you need to know about ghost hunting. I'll admit when I started reading it I wasn't sure since he was covering the brain and stuff. I was wondering where he was going with that, but I understood shortly. He really covers it all in this book from what we percieve to equipment to where to hunt and how to get your evidence together. I like how he has the equipment in sections from affordable to high end. There is a large forms section in the back as well as example photos. There is so much in this book that you may not have thought about before. Even if you're not a beginner you can learn from this one. I highly recommend you try to find it. I think you'll be very glad you did.
