More Hannah Montana Tickets!

More Tickets Are Going to Be Sold for Her Missouri Concerts!

When I heard Hannah Montana was coming to Kansas City, I thought, cool. A concert I can actually take my nine year old daughter to. That opportunity doesn't arise much. I figured we wouldn't get the best of seats since we didn't have access to the pre-sale, so I told my daughter not to get her hopes up. Of course, she got her hopes up anyway.

I was in front of my computer when the tickets went on sale. I picked, and clicked as fast as I could, but to no avail. There were only single seats left. As I said, she's nine, and she of course, can't go to a concert alone. Within 11 minutes, even the single seats were gone. My daughters high hopes were quickly deflated.

Not giving up, I decided to try other venues. What I found was absurd. Pairs of tickets all over the internet going for at least a thousand dollars. Ticket brokers bought the tickets with their high-tech software, keeping normal, well-meaning parents like myself, from being able to buy them. Well, I'm sorry, but I refuse to pay thousands of dollars for tickets anywhere, let alone to a kids concert way back in the nose bleed section.

Apparantly, I was not the only one outraged. Missouri Attorney General, Jay Nixon, decided that enough was enough. Due to the unfairness of the situation, he arranged an additional 1000 tickets to be sold at each Missouri location hosting a concert. The Kansas City concert is on Dec. 3, and the additional tickets will be available on October 20. No time has been announced yet. The St. Louis concert is on October 18, and tickets will be available for that concert on October 13. The tickets will be available through Ticketmaster.

In an effort to keep brokers from buying these "golden" tickets, people will be limited to no more than two tickets. Additionally, on the day of the concert, the ticket buyer must show proper photo identification and the credit card used to buy the tickets.

My fingers are crossed that I might be able to get some of these for my daughter. However, I am not silly enough to tell her about more going on sale.
