You prayed before You preached.1
Jesus, You are compassionate.
You healed the suffering leper.2
Jesus, You are patient.
You explained Your teaching to Your disciples.3
Jesus, You are gentle.
You raised the trembling woman and sent her in peace.4
Jesus, You are wise.
You saw beyond the outward appearance.5
Jesus, You are kingdom-minded.
You rebuked Peter for clinging to his limited perspective.6
Jesus, You are hospitable.
You welcomed the children Your disciples pushed away.7
Jesus, You are loving.
You loved even the man who desired his riches more than You.8
Jesus, You are courageous.
You rebuked the Pharisees' deception.9
Jesus, You are dependable.
You instructed the disciples, who found Passover preparations just as You predicted.10
Jesus, You are humble.
You admitted the weight of Your sorrow.11
Jesus, You are unselfish.
You endured agony for the sake of Your enemies.12
Jesus, I want to be more like You,
and I know You're working on me every day.
But sometimes it hurts.
I am weak.
I am cold.
I am impatient.
I am insensitive.
I am foolish.
I am earthly-minded.
I am inhospitable.
I am unloving.
I am fearful.
I am erratic.
I am proud.
I am self-centered.
This metamorphosis won't always hurt.
One day, You will finish Your work,
and I will be like You.
