More on Redecorating a Little Girl's Room

Ok, so you've read my first two articles about decorating your toddler daughter's room. Well this is a little more on that thought. This is about making do with what you have, because not everyone is rich, or able to just go out and buy everything brand new for their child. No matter how much they may desire to do so.

It is nice to be able to go buy the things you want, and it is nice to be able to redecorate in first class style. But it is not always possible, especially in today's economy, I mean the last I heard there is something like 16 percent of the population out of work at the moment. Granted there are still a fairly high percentage of people who do have jobs, but at the moment job security is not what it once was, so care should be taken when going out to make any major purchases.

So with that being said, let's look into "making do" with what you have. First off some of these ideas may only work for you if you happen to be crafty or able to go online and learn how to do some of these suggestions. The ideas I am about to suggest may still work for you even if you are not crafty, if you have a friend who perhaps is, who would be willing to work with you in your decorating project, or projects. Depending on how industrious you are and how much free time your friend has.

If you or your friend is unemployed you may both have a lot of free time. But if your employed you may not have quite as much free time. So whatever amount of time you have, you should try to budget your time to get the greatest value.

If you're unemployed you'll have to set aside time each week to look for work, if your employed you'll have to work around your work schedule. This is all something I am pretty sure most people would understand.

So, what could you do to decorate your darling daughter's room? And do it well on a very limited budget.

Well you could give your darlings room a good general cleaning. Separating out anything that your darling daughter no longer likes, or uses, if any of these items are in good shape, you could possibly sell these so you would have a little extra money to use towards your redecorating project.

Next look around your home and see if anything can be reused safely to decorate your darling daughter's room. Think creatively.

Perhaps, you have been sorting jeans, and have found several pair that are just unfit for much of anything. Well these old jeans could be cut into strips, and then either braided or crochet into a rather nice rug. You could make a special rug just especially for one corner of your daughter's room. So she could have her own special play area.

You can let your darling daughter do some finger paintings, then when these are dry, frame these with some old frames you may have. Or just make some Popsicle picture frames. Then hang these on the walls.

You could make a growth chart for your darling daughter and mount this on the wall, using construction paper, and marked lines on the stem. If you can laminate this then it will be more durable.
