The Quad core microprocessor was recently released into the market so the prices for it is still in the marked up at premium levels. However, the slightly older Intel® Core™2 Duo Processors have reduced prices since the newer Quad core chips are taking up most of the present attention of consumers, leaving the older chips to be stock cleared to accommodate for more quad core offerings. The chips that have vPro technology in them have the vPro marking on the logo as in the above image.

Intel® Centrino® with vPro™ Technology is one of the newest microprocessor from the chip giant, Intel. What makes is different from its Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor predecessor? There are quite a few new improvements included in the vPro microprocessor. One of which is the Intel® Trusted Execution Technology & Intel® VT² for directed I/O. The aforementioned improvements provide hardware rooted security architecture which can significantly reduce the risk of "hyper-jacking" or rootkit attacks.

The vPromicroprocessors are built on the newest hafnium-infused 45nm Intel® Core™ micro-architecture. A slightly better performance can also be expected of the vPro chips over its older 65nm Intel® Core™2 Duo processor with vPro technology cousin. Targeted at users of business computers & servers, the 45nm vPromicroprocessors proactively protect systems & allow IT administrators to quickly identify & contain security threats, heal systems, & remotely deploy critical software patches 56 percent faster.

In a nutshell, the vPromicroprocessor has the similar power efficiency as its predecessor while providing more performance & hardware security. The Intel® Centrino® with vPro™ Technology is one of the best microprocessor options for office notebooks & the Intel® Centrino® with vPro™ technology processor T9500 for office desktops. Folks, especially those in the business sector who are not ready or yet to find the need to step up to the Quad core microprocessor world yet may want to opt for the Core™2 Duo range of vPromicroprocessors.

Some features of the Intel® Centrino® with vPro™ technology microprocessor:

  • 2x the multitasking performance¹ & up to 2x the performance on compute-intensive applications¹
  • Reduce the need for hardware-related desk-side visits by up to 50 percent²
  • Reduce laptop asset inventory failures by up to 62 percent³
  • Conduct hardware and software inventory up to 95 percent faster than manual inventorying³
  • Improve your ability to inventory previously-undetected software by up to 47 percent³
  • low-leakage hafnium-based 45-nanometer technology
  • Intel® Intelligent Power Capability
  • Intel® Deep Power Down Technology
