More Surprising Celebrity Trends You Didn't See Coming

The ebb and flow of celebrity trends is incredibly fascinating. But it can be pretty hard trying to keep up with what's hip. Fashion trends tend to come and go; but there are indeed other style trends in the entertainment world that extend well beyond designer labels. Celebs have an uncanny way of making even the strangest personal habits look cool. And if you don't believe, just take a look at the spin that they've put on some of these popular trends.

Out: Scruffy heads of hair
In: Scruffy faces of hair

You've been seeing it for quite a while now-super hot male celebrities sporting faces full of fuzz. Joaquin Phoenix was one of the first Hollywood hunks to let the facial hair fly. But as time passed, others jumped on the hairy bandwagon-including none other than Brad Pitt, Hollywood's resident Golden Boy. But the list is practically endless, Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey, even Paul Rudd have explored their inner Grizzly Adams.

Out: Middle-Aged Plastic Surgery
In: Teenaged Plastic Surgery

Nips and tucks were previously reserved for Hollywood actresses of "a certain age" who wished to keep up with their younger counterparts. But in this beauty-obsessed nation it seems that plastic surgeons are seeing patients who are younger and younger. Take reality celebutante Heidi Montag for example-who barely into her twenties--decided to completely revamp her physical appearance with 10 cosmetic procedures at once. As a result, some say she turned into a really hot 35-year old who happens to look good for her age.

Out: Ballerina Flats
In
: "Grandma" Shoes

Let the record show that ballerina flats have never really gone out of style. This incredibly feminine style works well with skinny jeans, pencil skirts and a host of other flirty fashions. But check out the feet of your favorite celebrities lately; you'll notice that the shoe doesn't exactly fit the mold of young and flirty. In fact, there seems to be a surge of "grandma style" shoes flooding the market. These are the lace up shoes with just a peek of toe and the orthopedic strapped-sandals with cork wedge heels. You can probably blame long stretches on the red carpet for this bunion-soothing footwear. In any case, these demure styles are popping up on even the most fashionable feet.

Out: Over-the-top Wedding Dresses
In: Maternity Wedding Dresses

Celebrity brides will always have their pick of the litter when it comes to their wedding gowns. Weddings certainly provide the opportunity for celebrities to go all out - wearing the splashiest designer gowns they can get their hands on. But as the relationships in Hollywood seem to shift, we are seeing more and more women walking down the aisle with buns in the oven. R&B sensation Alicia Keys and "Real Housewives of New York" star Bethenny Frankel celebrated more than just sweet nuptials, both sporting baby bumps in their couture wedding gowns.

Out: Big Breast Implants
In: Big Booty Implants

Once upon a time it was the "in" thing to get bigger boobs. The headlines were saturated with debates over silicone versus saline. It doesn't really matter who won that fight, because bigger and better doesn't apply only to the mammaries anymore. It's now booties over boobies. Yep, that's right. It's the decade of the derriere-with everyone trying to find new ways to pad their bottoms. Some are opting for padded panties; some pop for injections. Others are going all out with surgical implants. You can always tell that a trend is hot when there is ongoing debate about whose body parts are real, and whose aren't. Today there seems to be at least a dozen ways to achieve a tempting tushy.
