More Tabloid Trouble: Matthew Broderick Caught Cheating?

Ferris Actor Has "Fun" with 25-year-old, Star Magazine Alleges

Fun in the tabloids doesn't stop with former Sen. John Edwards, who was recently accused by The National Enquirer of meeting with his mistress Rielle Hunter and their lovechild. In fact, Star Magazine now reports that Matthew Broderick (of "Ferris Bueller" fame) has been cheating on wife and "Sex in the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker with a youth counselor.

Of course, this "blockbuster exclusive" has been compiled with the help of "sources" for Star Magazine. According to the magazine, the 25-year-old youth counselor - who is nameless in the report - met Broderick in a bar and soon exchanged text messages with him afterward. The insider for Star Magazine claims that "they began seeing each other and things got passionate quickly" after rendezvousing at the Manhattan townhouse of a "showbiz friend."

Apparently the woman tried to end the meetings, because "sources say the woman felt conflicted with her relationship with [Broderick]." And yet, Star Magazine alleges, that "multiple eyewitnesses" saw Broderick visiting the nameless woman's apartment.

Not only do we know their tryst occurred in this unknown New York City townhouse, but also the fact that Broderick's apparent conquest nicknamed him "Matty Cakes."

Well, then. "Matty Cakes" has quite a dilemma here.

(I honestly wonder if this factoid was made up by Star writers. Did they have a vote to decide which was the silliest name? I guess names like "Matthey-Watthey" and "Broderie-poo" were just too ridiculous.)

Really, this story reported by Star Magazine has so many holes in it. Heck, the Enquirer's piece on Edwards seemed more credible than this - at least they had a name of the woman in question, and more than that, photos of what she looked like, coupled with a previous report from last December. Just like the Edwards story, Star's exclusive reveal on Broderick cites numerous anonymous sources and describes an event with any supporting photography. They even describe one of Broderick's trysts, which involved "a night of heavy drinking" and left Broderick's new redhead "passed out on
