More Tiger Woods News and Speculation - the High Price of Infidelity

What's the latest in the Tiger Woods infidelity saga which I have dubbed "Tiger Gate"? If you recall, after his notorious Thanksgiving accident, Tiger Woods would not speak to Florida State Troopers when they came to his Windermere home in Isleworth. Now Furman Bisher, a retired sports columnist, says he knows why. According to Bisher who says he got his story from a "trustworthy journalist," Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren were spending the evening at home on Thanksgiving. Tiger was reportedly texting mistress #1, Rachel Uchitel, about the National Enquirer story which had just come out about their alleged affair when a friend invited him out. Bisher says Tiger left his phone at home, still with one undeleted message from Uchitel. As Bisher's report goes, Nordegren saw the text message and was waiting for Woods when he got home.

An argument ensued and at some point, Nordegren allegedly grabbed a nine-iron and clobbered Woods in the face with it, supposedly nearly knocking out Woods' two front teeth. Picture if you will an enraged Elin chasing Tiger through their house with a golf club, because that is what Bisher says happened, with Nordegren pursuing Woods out to the Escalade, swinging the nine-iron as she went and eventually knocking out the Escalade's windows.

When Woods crashed the Escalade and was taken to the hospital, the doctors reportedly looked at the damage to his face, got x-rays, and recommended Woods go to Phoenix to have a plastic surgeon repair his face. It's nice to own a jet, because according to Bisher, Woods jetted off to Phoenix which is where he reportedly was when the police showed up at his house.

Bisher quotes his source as saying Woods did not take his yacht to the Bahamas, nor did Nordegren fly to Sweden, and he claims the moving vans were just moving the furniture an angry Elin Nordegren damaged with the nine-iron. Bisher also says the couple is still in love and in extensive marriage counseling.

Of course, other reports say Elin Nordegren used the nine-iron to break out the windows to free her husband when he was knocked unconscious in an accident she witnessed but may not have been involved with, and the Woods' neighbors say there were not any unusually large cuts or major damage to Tiger's face.

E!Online states Nordegren has been seen out without her wedding ring twice since the incident and that Tiger hasn't been spotting coming or going from his house since Thanksgiving - hardly the signs of a loving couple in therapy. Plus, many news outlets continue to report people close to Nordegren confirm the couple is divorcing and that the Woods' current separation is just a sign of things to come, and television news reports still place Tiger Woods in the Bahamas as of December 30. Also on December 30 a news crew from WPBF caught Rachel Uchitel out and asked her if she was still seeing Tiger Woods to which she would only reply, "No comment."

As to why Tiger Woods would repeatedly commit adultery against Elin Nordegren when he was supposedly in love with his beautiful Swedish wife and the mother of his children, some media outlets (like Extra) have speculated that Woods was acting out against his strict mother about whom he once said in an interview, "She basically laid down the law" in the Woods family. Either that or he just can't keep his pants on. If you are keeping count, some websites have the number up to 17 alleged mistresses now.

Whatever the case may be, his infidelity may have cost the companies that paid him millions of dollars in sponsorships and endorsements around 12 billion dollars, according to researchers at the University of California-Davis. And a divorce may cost Woods up to $300 million, according to many news sources. Oh, the high price of infidelity!
