More Time

robynA91185
time flies by

minutes turn to hours

hours to days

not noticing as

it goes

idly by

I turn my eyes

to try and concentrate

on anything else

but everytime

my brain

forces me to

consume memories

of you

I choke on the tears

as my heart flutters

remembering unkempt promises

that have yet to be fulfilled

sappy love songs

and words

nothing but words and

images my mind procures

my keyboard resting

underneath my fingertips

spending another lonely

night enraptured

by you

in front of my computer screen

how strange is

this love

that keeps me

running back to

you begging for

more

another day

has come and gone

as I wonder

yet again

how your physical

presence is upholding

behind enemy lines

my heart rests in

your hands

along with your rifle

please keep it safely.
