minutes turn to hours

hours to days

not noticing as

it goes

idly by

I turn my eyes

to try and concentrate

on anything else

but everytime

my brain

forces me to

consume memories

I choke on the tears

as my heart flutters

remembering unkempt promises

that have yet to be fulfilled

and words

nothing but words and

images my mind procures

my keyboard resting

underneath my fingertips

spending another lonely

night enraptured

in front of my computer screen

that keeps me

running back to

more

has come and gone

as I wonder
