More Top 10 Annoying Commercials for 2009

How 2009 Has Launched Some of the Most Ridiculous Commercials on the Air

The latest string of infomercials and commercials has been dubbed as 'annoying', but here's another rundown of the most annoying commercials. Some of these products have been on the air so long that many people can't even get the jingle out of their heads that's how bad it's gotten. Most people now just channel surf past most of these commercials and some are to the point they're being placed on the line up for late night hours between 11pm to 6am. Some of these commercials are on day and night to the point of sensory overload. 2009 has launched and even re-launched commercials from known names and we have the following 10 commercial and infomercial spots that are seriously annoying. These are the 10 spots that are considered annoying in 2009:

1) Empire Carpeting-This company has been around for more than 40 years with the same guy doing the spot until the commercials went into animated mode and the phone number was changed from a local number to an 800 with the same number the company has had for the past 45 years and you think that the jingle is annoying imagine having a link on the website for those who want to download the file to listen to that over and over again. One would rather rip their hair out than to listen to the same annoying jingle every time the commercial comes on television.

2) Taco Bell-These commercials have been about as tired as a day old plate of nachos. The spots have gotten to the point that you wonder who's thinking up these spots it goes from looking at two stupid guys rapping their order on the speaker box to the ugly guy in drag looking like the California octomom trying to sneak 3 different varieties of nachos into what looks like a football game. Even more annoying is the jingle "79, 89, 99" and a group of people whooping it up after pulling change out of the car ashtray.

3) Super Poligrip-Can this commercial not be more annoying with a bunch of geezers singing about how its great their teeth can stay in their mouths and not be held together by goopy cream. This is just how sad society has when it comes to creepy commercials like this one and anyone in their right mind would cringe.

4) Oxi-Clean and anything Billy Mays endorses-This is the king of all annoying commercials his voice alone is enough to make you want to shoot out your television in protest. Ever since Mays became the spokesperson for Oxy-Clean the commercials have been endless along with any other product he endorses. His loud voice is enough to make you want to hit the mute button on your television.

5) Geico-One can get sick of the stupid lizard with the Australian accent and seeing him with his boss in different scenarios. Even more the cavemen got annoying with their pissy-stick antics and the money with the eyes on it was enough and listening to rifts of Rockwell's 1985 hit 'Somebody's watching me' which is too much. Geico needs to fire their people behind the marketing strategy of this company and get a whole new jingle.

6) Kleenex-The current commercial makes it sound like someone seriously has OCD and let alone extremely creepy. The fact that they would make a commercial like this is poking fun at what is deemed as a serious problem. It may sound funny to many who see this commercial, but it's a jab at what is a really serious problem that affects 3 million American adults. Kleenex may have a point about selling tissue, but they need to seriously squash this commercial.

7) Progressive-This commercial was actually normal before they got this girl named 'Flo' on there and what's gotten more annoying is how she's loud and totally obnoxious with her over-enthusiastic ways. Makes you want to reach into the television and wring her neck because she's bouncing all over the place like some kid wired on nothing, but sugar.

8) Nuva-Ring-This is the one commercial that makes using birth control a pain in one's neck because to see women in butt ugly 40s style bathing suits doing synchronized swimming in the formation of a compact birth control case just makes it even more annoying to those who already use this stuff to have a song and dance about taking this new method of birth control. We don't need a performance of synchronized swimmers to show that you need to use this product save that speech for the gynecologist's office.

9) Free Credit Report-The three guys in this commercial are highly annoying from the wannabe Red Lobster waiters clinging and clanking silverware for musical instruments to the Renaissance Faire-esque scene with modern day musical instruments. The fact that they have such annoying catch phrases just makes you want to switch the channel and hoping not to run into this commercial again. It's bad enough that many people have bad credit to deal with, but they also don't need a high priced service to offer them a chance to look at their credit report.

10) Gain detergent-If this is not the most retarded commercial around showing some dude in 1973 with a bad 'fro, bell bottoms, wife beater getting his shirt out of the dryer smelling it and fast forward 34 years later to the same guy with a receding hairline and a beer gut smelling his shirt from the dryer. The more annoying commercial is when the guy took his wife to the convenience mart at 3am and it looks like she's pregnant and had a craving when she already had the baby and wanted a bottle of Gain to sniff to satisfy a craving.....that was pretty stupid.

The fact that these commercials are annoying and yet surprising that they're still hanging on for dear life on television screens across the world. If anything these commercials are what make watching television a headache to endure some days and the best way to deal with these annoying commercials is to simply hit mute or just change the channel altogether. Most of us are sick of seeing these commercials on television to the point of ad nauseum.

Totally agree about Baskin/Robbins commercial! I now refuse to buy their ice cream, and every time I see those stupid singing mops I chanage the channel.

The new most annoying (or at least a candidate for the spot) is the Baskin/Robbins "Ice cream and cake" done loudly and repetitively. Ugh!
