More White Elephant Gift Ideas

White Elephant Gifts do not have to be hard. All you have to do is use your imagination and think a little. Actually, white elephant gifts are a nice and fun way to exchange presents, especially with people you only have casual contact with on a day to day basis, such as people at the office. White elephant gifts can save you money, too. That is always a plus, in these hard financial times.

In case you don't know, usually one will define a white elephant gift as a gift you find from your home. It is something you personally all ready owned. It is not something you buy at a store. It is also something that is in good shape and still usable. Sometimes, these gifts are called Yankee gifts. They are usually given in exchange parties. Each person attending the party is to bring a gift. A number is usually assigned to the gift. Then one by one each guest draws a number. They open the gift in front of the crowd. To be more fun, sometimes instead of numbers music is used and people pass gifts around, one by one to the music. When the music stops, you are given the gift you are holding. This style of gift giving is also popular at school parties.

If you are attending a party in which a white elephant gift is required here are some examples of what you may want to bring. These are for adult parties.

1. Fuzzy socks. You know the warm ones that are supposed to keep your feet warm.

2. Clocks. Don't we all have too many of them, and yet we are late a lot.

3. Bouquets of fake flowers. Make sure they don't have dust in them.

4. Pens and pencils. We all have way too many of them. Find a cute box to put them in and a little note tablet.

5. CD and DVD notebooks. These are the ones in which you are suppose to store the CD's or DVD's.

6. Are you a gardener, a fisherman, a want to be mechanic? Do you have how to guides on the subject? Maybe the receiver would like to learn how to be one, too.

7. Address book. Do you have an empty one? If you don't, find a nice empty journal. Then jot down the address of everyone who will be at the party, don't forget their email addresses.

9. Do you collect figurines of angels, unicorns or something of the like? Maybe you could share one of your treasures. If you would have a figurine or some kind of nick nac of an elephant (especially a white one), it would be even more fitting for the occasion.

10. What about towels, dish towels, pot holders, and the like? Do you have a box of them stored away for when the ones you are using wears out for good? Get some of them out and make a nice box. Add a new bar of soap and you will have a complete set.

11. Bath products? Do you and your spouse have opened bottles of bath products? If you do, you can make a him and her set. You can do the same thing with perfumes and colognes.

Now think for a few minutes and picture all of the things you own. I imagine it won't take you long to come up with many more ideas to add to the list.

Wrap up your treasure and have fun at the party.
